Stettler Regional Child Centre was established In January 1976. It began under the direction of Preventive Social Services. In 1978 the Centre was incorporated as a Society. We are a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Management. The Board of Management consists of parents and members of the community.
The Centre operated from the lower floor of the United Church until 1982 at which time it moved to the old hospital. The name was then changed to Stettler Regional Child Care Centre. When this building was scheduled to be torn down in the spring of 1999, we temporarily resided in the Stettler Recreation Centre until October of that year when we were able to move into our present building located at 5702 - 48 Avenue.
Our Programs have grown to include Infant Care, Out of School Care, Family Day Homes, Stepping Stones Playschool and our satellite centre, Leaps and Bounds Child Care. Stepping Stones Playschool closed during 2020.
